Rabbi Miriam Burg

Rabbi Miriam Cotzin Burg is the Founder and CEO of Hava NaBaby: Jewish Childbirth Education, a non-profit organization dedicated to meeting people on the path to parenthood with opportunities to learn, connect, and engage with big questions about the people and parents they want to be.

Throughout her career, she has discovered and created professional opportunities that are designed and committed to growing Jewish curiosity and community. Her experiences include serving as the Camp Rabbi and Director of Jewish Life at Capital Camps and Retreat Center in the D.C. area, as the Director of Educational Engagement at the Center for Jewish Education in Baltimore, the Director of Fellowships at the Jewish Council on Urban Affairs in Chicago, and as the School Rabbi and Director of Jewish Studies at Stephen S. Wise Temple Elementary School in Los Angeles.

Miriam was ordained at the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in 2002, where she also earned Master's degrees in Jewish Education and Hebrew Letters. She is a proud alumnus of the University of Michigan Honors College and is a certified childbirth educator through the International Childbirth Education Association. She currently lives in Baltimore with her husband, Rabbi Daniel Burg, and their two amazing children. She has known Rabbi Gershom for over 20 years and finally had the opportunity to travel to Uganda in the Summer of 2024. She plans to return in Summer 2025 and Winter 2026 -- and hopefully many more times after that!
